This role is part of Landis+Gyr’s EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) business, which is expected to become an independent company under new ownership by mid-2026, subject to customary regulatory approvals. Landis+Gyr is seeking a dedicated and experienced Global Export Control Officer to lead our efforts in export controls and sanctions compliance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and shape the company's global export compliance program.

 

As the Global Export Control Officer, you will support the deployment of standards and guidelines on a global scale, monitor adherence and set-up required processes to ensure full compliance for Landis+Gyr in Export Controls, Sanctions Regulations, sanctioned party, embargo screenings, and Customs Compliance.

 

About your future responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain global procedures and guidelines for export controls and sanctions compliance.
  • Maintain and develop Global Export Compliance Program and regularly update the Internal Compliance Resource Center to reflect up to date sanctions, export control and customs related metrics and information.
  • Distribute quarterly bulletins to internal stakeholders with updates on key developments and sanctioned parties metrics.
  • Implement and maintain standards for sanctioned party and embargo screenings.
  • Conduct transactional screenings against sanctioned party lists for sales and purchase orders.
  • Coordinate with regional screening analysts and serve as an escalation contact for transactional screening issues.
  • Organize training sessions to ensure personnel compliance with export and sanctions standards.
  • Facilitate due diligence activities for export controls and sanctions compliance on new projects and opportunities.
  • Serve as the global point of contact for export controls and sanctions compliance inquiries related to Landis+Gyr.
  • Collaborate closely with Legal & Compliance, Treasury & Insurance, Sales, Product Management, and Logistics departments.
  • Monitor regulatory developments in export controls, sanctions, and customs.
  • Review and advise on regulatory requirements affecting company business practices.
  • Contribute to the development of company strategies and policies in export control and sanctions.

 

About our expectations:

 

  • Relevant experience on senior Export Control position min. 5 years covering export controls and sanctions compliance.
  • Expertise in international export and sanctions regulations across jurisdictions.
  • Competency in EU, US, UK, and Switzerland sanctions regimes and compliance trends.
  • Experience in screening against sanctioned parties and embargoes.
  • Understanding of Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and dual-use goods regulations.
  • Strong analytical acumen and ability to draw metric-based conclusions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and other relevant software.
  • Technical knowledge of SAP/GTS export compliance module.
  • Background in international trade and customs compliance.
  • Strong organizational skills with effective task prioritization, flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment with tigh deadlines.
  • Cultivates relationships with discretion, professionalism, and integrity.
