About the Role

We are looking for a smart, hands‑on Test Expert to join our Smart Gas Solutions team. The role will be responsible for defining and executing test strategies across smart gas meters, prepayment systems, head‑end systems, vending platforms, and end‑to‑end integrations. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in embedded systems testing, system integration testing, security testing, and has worked in utility, metering, or IoT environments.

Test Strategy & Leadership

• Define and own end‑to‑end test strategy for smart gas solutions, covering meter, backend, vending, and mobile/web applications.
• Drive test planning, estimation, execution, and reporting across releases.
• Act as a test subject‑matter expert (SME) for smart gas and prepayment systems.

Functional & System Testing

• Perform system, integration, regression, and acceptance testing for:
• Smart gas meters
• Prepayment / OTP‑based vending systems
• Head‑End Systems (HES) and backend platforms
• Validate end‑to‑end business scenarios, including pay‑as‑you‑go, credit loading, consumption, and reconciliation.

Embedded & Protocol Testing

• Test embedded firmware on smart gas meters.
• Validate communication protocols (e.g., DLMS/COSEM, proprietary protocols, TCP/IP, MQTT, etc.).
• Work closely with firmware and hardware teams to support field and lab testing.

Security & Compliance Testing

• Test security features such as:
• OTP/token validation
• Cryptographic mechanisms (GMAC, certificates, keys)
• Replay protection and fraud handling
• Support certification, compliance, and audit activities, including creation of test evidence and traceability.

Automation & Tooling

• Identify opportunities for test automation at API, system, and integration levels.
• Develop or guide automation frameworks where applicable.
• Support CI/CD pipelines with automated test execution and quality gates.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

• Work closely with development, architecture, security, and product teams.
• Participate actively in requirement reviews and solution design discussions to ensure testability and quality by design.

Mentor junior team members and contribute to building strong testing practices.

Educational and Professional Qualification :

• 11+ years of total experience of Firmware Testing.
• Relevant tertiary qualification - B. E, B. Tech, M. E, M. Tech
• Having good experince work eposure with Python.
• Experience with prepayment / token‑based systems.
• Having experiance of Robot Framework is added advanage.
• Clear communication skills with the aptitude to quickly grasp technical topics in sufficient detail to effectively communicate with product management and technical teams.
• Selenium and/or Automation Robot, familiarity with Unix environments, SQL, Web application testing, REST web service
• Exposure to Metering is an added advantage.
