Lab Technician - Electronic Testing

Job Summary

Purpose and Objective

  • The Electronic Testing Laboratory Technician will initially support in the establishing a completely new electronic testing lab from the ground up, followed by the subsequent, operation, and continuous development of the laboratory.
  • During the initial phase, the role will focus heavily on lab development, and process setup. Once operational, the role is responsible for supporting the operation of the laboratory through the execution of component qualification, reliability, and performance testing activities. The role performs hands-on laboratory testing, operates test equipment and environmental chambers, supports test fixture setup, collects and analyzes test data, and ensures laboratory equipment is maintained and calibrated.

Core Areas of Responsibility/Accountability

Laboratory Testing & Execution:

Perform qualification, validation, reliability, and performance testing of electronic components and assemblies; set up and operate equipment; record results and support failure analysis. 
Equipment & Laboratory Maintenance: Maintain equipment, support calibration, uphold ESD and safety standards, and manage consumables. 
Data Collection & Reporting: Compile results and support analysis and reporting. 
Cross-Functional Support: Support Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Component Management teams. 
Continuous Improvement: Support process and testing method improvements. 

Core Technical Competencies 

Electronic Components, Component Qualification & Testing, Laboratory Equipment Operation, Electronic Measurements, Reliability Testing, Data Collection & Reporting, Test Fixture Setup, Basic Test Automation (Python preferred), PCBA Knowledge, ESD & Safety Practices
