This role is part of Landis+Gyr’s EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) business, which is expected to become an independent company under new ownership by mid-2026, subject to customary regulatory approvals. Key Purpose of Role: 

To manage and execute procurement activities for non-engineering (indirect spend) categories by ensuring cost-effective sourcing, efficient vendor management, and adherence to procurement policies, while supporting business requirements through strategic sourcing and supplier collaboration

 

Areas of Responsibility / Tasks:

Role Overview

We are looking for a highly driven procurement professional to independently manage end-to-end indirect procurement (IMS), including MRO, services, and GCC/GDC-related buying. This role requires strong ownership across sourcing, vendor development, compliance, and process governance, with the expectation to operate at par with a procurement lead.

Key Responsibilities

1. End-to-End Indirect Procurement (IMS)

    • Manage procurement of indirect materials and services including MRO, admin, IT, facility, and project requirements
    • Drive complete sourcing lifecycle: requirement understanding → RFQ/RFP → techno-commercial evaluation → negotiation → PO release → delivery closure
    • Ensure cost optimization, quality adherence, and on-time delivery

2. MRO & Indirect Buying Expertise

    • Handle MRO procurement including consumables, spares, electricals, electronics, and maintenance services
    • Manage critical and urgent buying requirements for GCC & GDC operations
    • Establish rate contracts and optimize repeat buying through standardization

3. Vendor Development & Management

    • Identify and develop new vendors across categories to reduce dependency and improve competitiveness
    • Conduct supplier capability assessment, benchmarking, and onboarding
    • Drive competitive bidding and expand vendor base for cost efficiency
    • Monitor vendor performance (quality, delivery, responsiveness) and implement corrective actions
    • Build long-term strategic supplier relationships and alternate sourcing strategies

4. Compliance & Regulatory Handling

    • Manage import/export procurement including documentation, CHA coordination, and customs clearance
    • Ensure compliance with RF licenses, statutory requirements, and internal audit standards
    • Handle e-way bills, GST documentation, and regulatory compliance

5. Policy & Process Governance

    • Ensure strict adherence to procurement policies, SOPs, and approval matrices
    • Drive process improvement initiatives and standardization
    • Maintain complete documentation for audits and internal controls

6. Stakeholder Management

    • Partner with Admin, IT, Finance, Projects, and Operations teams
    • Act as a single point of contact for all indirect procurement requirements
    • Provide procurement insights and sourcing strategies to stakeholders

7. Reporting & MIS

    • Track KPIs: cost savings, procurement TAT, compliance, vendor performance
    • Maintain dashboards and periodic reports
    • Support audits and management reviews

 Required Skills & Competencies

    • Strong expertise in indirect procurement and MRO buying
    • Proven experience in vendor development and supplier base expansion
    • Solid understanding of import/export processes and compliance
    • Hands-on experience with RFQ/RFP, negotiation, and contract management
    • Knowledge of GST, e-way bill, and statutory compliance
    • Strong ownership mindset with ability to operate independently
    • Process-driven with high attention to detail

 

Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering / commerce / supply chain
    • MBA / PGDM in Supply Chain or Operations preferred
    • 7–9 years of experience in indirect procurement / IMS
    • Experience in GCC/GDC environment is highly preferred

Must-Have Category Exposure (Non-Negotiable)

Candidate must have hands-on ownership (not just coordination) in the categories below:

1. IT Infrastructure & Assets

    • Laptops, desktops, servers, printers, networking equipment (routers, switches, firewalls)
    • IT peripherals and accessories (cables, docking stations, etc.)
    • Software licensing, cloud subscriptions, SaaS procurement
    • Vendor OEM coordination (Dell, HP, Lenovo, etc.)

 

2. Facility Management & Admin Procurement

    • Housekeeping, security services, manpower outsourcing
    • Pantry supplies, cafeteria services
    • Office infrastructure setup (workstations, partitions, fit-outs)
    • Electrical, plumbing, HVAC-related procurement

 

3. MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations)

    • Electrical items, tools, spares, consumables
    • Preventive & breakdown maintenance purchases
    • Engineering support items

 

4. AMCs / Service Contracts

    • IT AMC (hardware/network)
    • Facility AMC (DG sets, HVAC, elevators, UPS, etc.)
    • Annual rate contracts and multi-year agreements

 

5. Import Procurement

    • International sourcing and vendor coordination
    • CHA handling, customs clearance, duty structure
    • Incoterms (FOB, CIF, EXW, etc.)
    • Documentation (BOE, invoice, packing list, COO, etc.)

 

6. Compliance-Linked Procurement

    • E-way bill generation and tracking
    • GST compliance in procurement
    • RF licenses / regulatory approvals (if applicable)
    • Audit documentation and traceability

 

7. Project Procurement (Capex / Fit-outs)

    • Office setup, expansion, civil/interior work
    • Vendor finalization for turnkey projects
    • BOQ-based procurement

 

8. GCC / GDC Procurement Exposure (Highly Preferred)

    • Experience supporting global teams or captive centers
    • Handling global vendor expectations, SLAs, and compliance
    • Working with cross-border stakeholders

 

 

Expectations for Skills & Experience:

  • 7–12 years of experience in procurement, preferably in handling indirect / non-engineering categories.
  • Strong experience in vendor sourcing, supplier evaluation, and vendor management.
  • Hands-on experience in RFQ/RFP process, commercial negotiations, and contract management.
  • Good understanding of procurement processes, cost optimization, and value engineering.
  • Experience in ERP systems (preferably ZOHO ERP) for procurement and purchase order management.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to prepare MIS reports, spend analysis, and procurement

  • MBA / PGDM in Supply Chain, Operations, or Procurement will be an added advantage (Optional).
