Role Purpose

The OT Security Architect (Manufacturing & Provisioning) is responsible for defining, implementing, and maintaining security controls within manufacturing and logistics environments.
This includes ensuring secure-by-design processes in all New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and alignment with product, factory, supply chain, and cryptographic provisioning requirements.
The role ensures that production systems, provisioning equipment, key injection processes, and operational technology (OT) assets meet corporate and regulatory cybersecurity standards, working in close alignment with PKI/HSM Engineering where manufacturing security and cryptographic operations intersect.

Key Responsibilities

• Define, implement, and oversee security controls for manufacturing sites, provisioning systems, and logistics centers.

• Support secure product provisioning, certificate handling, and key injection processes in close cooperation with PKI/HSM engineers and local NPI teams.

• Ensure secure-by-design practices are applied across all manufacturing processes and supplier interfaces.
• Coordinate with local manufacturing leads to ensure consistent implementation of security baselines across sites (France, Germany, Greece, Turkey).
• Identify and mitigate security risks in factory networks, test systems, and connected manufacturing infrastructure.
• Contribute to the definition and rollout of factory cybersecurity policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with IEC 62443 and internal standards.
• Support internal and external audits related to manufacturing security controls.
• Provide input to product architects and governance teams regarding production-related certification requirements (e.g., CRA, IEC 62443).

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, industrial automation, or OT security engineering.
• Strong understanding of factory systems, provisioning lines, and test equipment security.

• Experience assessing typical OT and manufacturing security risks, including availability, production continuity, safety-related constraints, legacy systems, and operational resilience challenges.
• Knowledge of IEC 62443, secure provisioning, certificate lifecycle concepts, and key injection processes.
• Familiarity with PKI/HSM operations in a manufacturing context, including the interfaces between factory provisioning systems and central cryptographic services.

• Experience working with cross-country manufacturing or supply chain teams.
• Practical understanding of network segmentation, access control, and OT hardening.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Industrial Automation.
• Certification in Industrial or OT Security (e.g., GICSP, IEC 62443, etc.)
• Experience with supplier security audits or secure equipment validation.
• Understanding of logistics and product traceability systems.

Key Interfaces

• Internal: Manufacturing & Operations, Local NPI Functions (France, Germany, Greece, Turkey), PKI/HSM Engineering, QA, and Security Architecture.

• External: Suppliers, contract manufacturers, auditors, and certification bodies.

Success Indicators

• Secure provisioning and production processes established and verified across all sites.
• No critical security deviations identified in audits or product certifications.
• Consistent implementation of factory security baselines across NPI teams.
• Strong collaboration between Product Security and Manufacturing organizations.
